Lacrosse was founded in in the 12th Century by Native Americans. But modern Lacrosse was founded by William George Beeers a canadian doctor in 1869. Beers is hailed as the father of modern Lacrosse. As he created the first set of rules Lacrosse has made apperances in the olympics the latest being in 1948. Lacrosse is currently played by 48 countries. And is the fastest sport in the U.S., the sport has seen 200% growth in the last 2 years.
The Mll was founded in 1999 it's inaugural season was held in 2001 With 6 original teams and 9 current teams. During the 2015 season each game averaged 4,384 spectators. PLayers are paid $10,000-$25,000 on average and most hold other jobs. ESPN2 is currently brodcasting MLL games.
